Registration for winter/spring 2024 kids classes is now open!
We have limited spots available and priority registration will be given to students continuing on from the fall session. If your child is new to Capoeira Vida, please contact us at info@capoeiravida.com.
Capoeira Vida’s Winter/Spring 2024 Kids Session takes place at Way of Action every Wednesday starting January 17th. Our 19-week session is for kids between the ages of 4 and 13. Students will build upon their knowledge from the fall session through practicing their capoeira moves, singing and playing musical instruments. The winter/spring session will culminate in a batizado* (end-of-year ceremony) in June, when new students will receive their first cord, and our other students will graduate to their next cord level.
*Registration and payment for the batizado is not included in this session.
4-7 Year-olds: Wednesday 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
8-13 Year-olds: Wednesday 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

A uniform is required for Capoeira Vida Kids sessions. Includes (1) t-shirt, (1) abada (pants), and (1) cord.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS & MAKEUPS
No Class: 2/21, 4/24
CapoeiraVida generally follows the NYC Department of Education calendar. No capoeira classes will be held on snow days or school holidays, and no make-ups will be made for such cancellations.
We allow one make-up class per session, and make-up classes do not roll over to the next session. Please email info@capoeiravida.com if your child missed his or her regularly scheduled class, and you would like to schedule a makeup.
CLASS INFO
The studio opens 15 minutes prior to the start of class. Please arrive with enough time so that classes can start punctually but no earlier as there may be other classes prior to ours. Our classes are drop-off only. We invite you to watch the last 5 minutes of every class. The entire final class of the series will be open to viewing. Please arrange for your child to be picked up promptly at the end of class, as late pick-ups will result in extra fees. If your child will be late or absent, please call us at 917-722-6703. We encourage your child to bring a water bottle—we work hard in capoeira class!
UNIFORMS & ATTIRE
Uniforms are an important part of Capoeira Vida kids and are required for all participants. They are available for purchase at class for $75 and consist of abada/pants, cord, and shirt. All classes are taken without shoes or socks. Long hair should be tied back, and jewelry must be taken off.
TRIAL & DROP-IN CLASSES
For new students, if you are unsure whether capoeira is right for your family, we invite your child to attend a trial class on the first day of the session, provided there is space in the class. There is a $35 drop-in fee for the trial class, which will be applied to the price of the series if the student registers. Please email us for more information at info@capoeiravida.com
FAMILY DISCOUNT
For families with multiple children/adults enrolled in classes, when one child enrolls at regular price, siblings/parents will receive a 10% family discount. Please email info@capoeiravida.com to request this.
REFUND POLICY
Class fees are refundable within the first 3 weeks of the series, less a $35 processing fee and the prorated cost of classes taken. We cannot provide a refund if your child has continued to attend the session after the first three weeks. Please contact us directly to process a withdrawal and refund.
